What do "private" and "public" entail?
Anything that is marked private can be viewed by you and your friends on the site. Anything public can be viewed by any visitor to the site. The only exception is a password-protected album, where even friends will need a password to view its contents.
I want my photos to be private, and only able to be viewed by only a few people. However, I don't want to make them register. What can I do?
When you set up an album, select "password protected". You can give them the password to access the photos.
What happens if I put private photos in a public album?
If you accidently do this, your private photos will only be seen by you and your friends. Other members who are not friends, and non-members can not see them.
